Pediatric Medication Suggestions (RAG)
Understand extraction, suggestions, and limitations.
Interpreting notes to extract age, weight, indications
- The assistant extracts indications from the ASSESSMENT/impression.
- Age (years) and weight (kg) should be provided explicitly; if missing, you’ll be prompted.
Suggesting medications (vector + LLM merge)
- Vector search retrieves similar pediatric medications from curated references based on indications, age, and weight.
- LLM suggestions complement vector results; both sets are merged to present concise, evidence‑informed options.
Brand/generic names, first‑line flags, rationales
Each suggestion includes generic name, available brand names (US/Canada when known), a “first‑line” marker if applicable, and a brief rationale.
Limitations and clinical verification
- The list is decision support, not a prescription. Always verify against local formularies, allergies, interactions, and patient‑specific factors.
- Some conditions require subspecialty guidance or lab monitoring not inferred from the note.
